Wine Tour and Lunch in the Eastern Townships of Quebec

Sunday May 21, 2017, Wine Tour and Lunch in the Eastern Townships of Québec

We have organized a private tour of one of the most beautiful areas of “La Belle Province,” the Eastern Townships. This area is rich in old Québécois tradition in every small village and town, nestled in a picturesque landscape. From maple syrup and cheese, to wines and cider, it is truly a memorable gastronomic experience. We will have our guide take us for a beautiful three course meal featuring Québécois delicacies at the well known restaurant “Le Tire-Bouchon,” and sample two of the amazing wineries from this region of Québec.

Departure and Arrival Times:  10:00 am to 4:30 pm (Times are TBD)
Participant Cost:  $130.00 USD (lunch, taxes, and tips included)

Boating in Montreal's Lachine Rapids

Monday May 22, 2017, Boating in Montreal’s Lachine Rapids

One of the best ways of seeing the city of Montreal is from the water, on the great Saint Lawrence River. And with some nice weather, why not take in the beautiful city more refreshed with some speed and splashes? Flowing between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic, the Saint Lawrence rolls and tumbles right through the heart of Montreal’s city centre. As you oat along, take in breathtaking cityscapes framed by the distant peaks of the Laurentian Mountains. Do not forget your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes! Shoes or sandals are also mandatory, so remember a change of footwear!

Departure and Arrival Times: Monday afternoon (Times are TBD)
Participant Cost: $60.00 USD (transportation, taxes and tips included)

Bistro Le Modavie
Bistro Le Modavie

Monday May 22, 2017 (Revised), Dinner and Live Jazz in Old Montreal at Bistro Le Modavie

We invite you to join us in the heart of the Old Port of Montreal for our evening soirée, a combination of French cuisine and live jazz at Modavie.

A fixture in the Montreal Jazz scene, Modavie’s encourages local talent, inviting an eclectic group of Montreal-based artists who cover everything from jazz to R&B and Blues.

Like the lively music accompanying it, Modavie’s food strikes all the right chords. Inspired French bistro dishes with always-fresh produce (be sure to try the lamb)!

Departure and Arrival Times:  6:00 pm to close (Times are TBD)
Participant Cost:  $65.00 USD (taxes and tips included)
* alcoholic beverages not included

Montreal Aviation Museum

Tuesday May 23, 2017, Montreal Aviation Museum and Lunch in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

The Montreal Aviation Museum is the only one of its kind in Quebec combining civil and military aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia, and has the full support of many established cultural and educational organizations, including the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and McGill University. The MAM has been restoring several historically signi cant aircraft for Canada and particularly for the province of Quebec. We will then go a short distance away to enjoy lunch outside at a peaceful waterfront restaurant, along the aptly named inlet “Quai Sera” in nearby Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Beyond its historical and touristic charms, this small town is a thriving centre in western Montreal, allowing locals and patrons to enjoy nature, local culture, and joie de vivre without the noise from the “big city” atmosphere.

Departure and Arrival Times:  9:00 am to 2:00 pm (Times are TBD)
Participant Cost:  $75.00 USD (transportation, taxes, tips and lunch included)

Tuesday May 23, 2017, Non-SAWE Evening Recommendation: Cirque du Soleil under the Big Top

We are happy to announce that Quebec’s own Cirque du Soleil has a brand new show under the big top at Montreal’s Old Port, in celebration of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal. We are not of cially organizing this as a group event, but this is a “can’t miss” recommendation for the free evening on Tuesday night, especially if you have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show before. Buy your tickets, and either grab a taxi or take a nice walk to the Big Top in the old port of Montreal, which is not too far from the hotel. And make sure to get your tickets early – not only can we guarantee an amazing spectacle, but it will also sell out very quickly!!! VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves the adrenaline rush of acrobatics into a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score.

Departure and Arrival Times:  TBD
Participant Cost:  Varied based on seat selection
