Goodrich Aerostructures Group in Chula Vista, California, has an immediate opening for a Weights/Mass Properties Engineer – IV.

The Weights Engineer – IV will be responsible for determining mass properties (weight, center of gravity, and moment of inertia) of aerospace engine nacelle components and assemblies in a new nacelle development program using classical analysis techniques and CATIA V5. He/She will work with design and structures engineers to achieve weight-optimized designs. The Weights Engineer – IV will also monitor weight trends during the design process and report on weight status of components and assemblies. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in developing and implementing weight saving activities as required. Communicate technical issues through written, verbal and presentation media. Experience should include resolving weights issues of unusually complex scope.

Basic Requirements:

• B.S. degree in a relevant field preferably Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years relevant aerospace weights engineering experience; or a Masters Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with weights analysis within an aerospace development program environment with Nacelle or Thrust Reverser experience is highly preferred.
• Experience analyzing primary and secondary aircraft structure, weight spreadsheets, Microsoft Excel, CATIA V5, Enovia, Teamcenter are highly preferred.
