SAWE Wichita Chapter Minutes

The Wichita chapter of SAWE met Monday evening, November 12, 2007 at the Timberline Steakhouse.  Twenty members and guests were in attendance.  It was decided that the SAWE chapter would purchase a new projector screen to replace the old one that ripped recently.  It was decided our next meeting would be in January and suggestions were asked for other restaurants that we could meet in.  Our activity for December will be adopting a family through the Salvation Army.  Vic Graham will be contacting them to sign up for a family. 

Vic reminded those in attendance that we will be hosting an International Conference in 2009 and that we need to get our committees organized and start planning for that conference.  It was announced that the meetings for the conferences would not be happening at our regular SAWE meetings.

After we enjoyed the meal Darren McCloud gave a presentation that he has prepared for mangers at his company titled “New Method for Developing Dollars per Pound for Business Jets”.  He shared information about what customers use to help decide which business will be the most productive to buy.  From these formulas he was able to derive a formula that effectively gave developing dollars per pound for a business jet.  This is something that all business jet companies use to try and gauge how much it’ll cost to develop a certain size business jet.  After presenting the information he asked if there were any questions or comments on his analysis and proposal.  It was asked if his presentation would be available for distribution and analysis. That question is pending with his management.

The meeting was adjourned about 8:30 pm.
