SAWE Wichita Chapter

Minutes February 18, 2008

The Wichita chapter of SAWE met Monday evening, February 18, 2008 at Two Brothers Barbecue.  Eleven members plus one from the LA Chapter and one guest were in attendance.  Several members were reported sick and unable to attend.

It was announced that there would be an International Conference meeting on Monday, February 25^th in the Gander Mountain conference room from 6-7 pm.  Mention at the front desk that you are with SAWE and they will be able to direct you to their meeting room.  John Kaufman from Cessna will be presenting at the International Conference in Seattle.  Gopal is planning on attending and recruiting vendors for our conference the following year.

After we enjoyed the meal Peter Levy gave a presentation about his companies Customer Weight and Balance Calculator.  This program was put together over a 90-day period.  It was designed for the pilots and their operators to ease the process of developing a flight plan and loading charts.  This program allows you to choose from any combination of Learjet aircraft, fuel systems and seating plans.  Plus this program will allow you to customize any of the options for aftermarket modifications.  Peter continued to show us several aircraft he had setup previously modifying the weight of passengers, their luggage and their locations in the aircraft.  Meanwhile the envelope charts are continuously updating and calculating everything the flight manual requires.  This program works on any computer operating Windows 95 or later.  Eventually he would like to see this incorporated on an electronic flight bag.  Following the presentation he handed free copies and informational sheets for our own private use.

The meeting was adjourned about 8:30 pm.
