This paper explores the difficulties of conversion to metric units with respect to engineering experience, program changes to input/output, consistent mnemonics for value dimensions and the conversion of already existing fixed data sets. It presents a reasonable procedure to implement the change from English units and English whole number increments within existing programs to metric units and metric whole number increments within future "converted" programs. The discussion refers to a series of viewgraph charts which cover the conversion procedure.
