Description:
Scope
This document presents an introduction and overview of mass properties control for commercial and military vehicle systems. This document addresses the top level considerations for Mass Properties Engineering (MPE) in the aerospace, marine, and ground vehicle industries and other allied industries. As with all Society of Allied Weight Engineers (SAWE) products, this document was produced by volunteers from government and industry.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of Mass Properties Engineering (MPE) and its control and management processes, discuss its importance and cost benefits, introduce the Society of Allied Weight Engineers (SAWE), and provide a listing of resources that provide educational information to managers as well as novice and experienced mass properties engineers.
