Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Phantom Works division is seeking an Experienced Mass Properties Engineer (Level 3) at the St Louis site to support upcoming Fixed Wing Advanced Development Programs. The individual in this role will play a key element in shaping the future for Boeing and our DoD Customers leading mass properties weight estimation, tracking, management, and key design trades to mature an air vehicle concept. As a mass properties engineer in Phantom Works, you will be a part of a team focused on the implementation of model based engineering.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master +3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security division is seeking a MQ-25 Mass Properties Lead in Hazelwood, MO.
The MQ-25 Air Vehicle team is seeking a Mass Properties / Weights Engineering Lead (Level 4) to join the team in Hazelwood, Missouri. The MQ-25 program is working the Engineering and Manufacturing Development of 7 flight vehicles and two full-scale test articles. This position will be responsible for coordination of the mass properties team, completion of vehicle weight reporting, and final aircraft weights.
Leads a team of Mass Properties engineers to control weight and balance characteristics of the aircraft in order to meet performance requirements.
Responsible for developing and presenting weight status or technical data to program management, the customer or design groups.
Guides and mentors other mass properties engineers on the program.
Responsible for coordination of full aircraft weighing and weight reports.
Determines approaches to and leads development of, complex weight, balance and mass properties data. Leads the definition of complex weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements. Participates in developing challenging customer specification commitments.
Determines approaches to and leads development of, vehicle or system configuration guidance.
Leads high-level weight control efforts.
Oversees the estimation, calculation, measurement and verification of mass, weight, stiffness and inertias. Leads development and maintenance of weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems and oversees weight and balance reports.
Creates innovative concepts and leads the development and implementation of new processes and tools.
Works under minimal direction.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Experience working on military or Navy programs
Experience with the Common Mass Properties Analysis Tool (CMPAT)
Experience with Engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as Team Center and Enovia

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Vertical Lift division is seeking a Senior Mass Properties Engineer to lead Mass Properties control and management located in Ridley Park, PA. This position will be a part of a mass properties team that supports all vertical lift programs in Philadelphia. The Vertical Lift Division is focused on designing the next generation FLRAA (Future Long Range Assault Aircraft) for the US Army. Vertical Lift also provides a wide range of support on programs across the enterprise, primary the Army’s AH-6, AH-64, CH-47, MH-47, the Air Force’s CV-22, MH-139, and Marines/Navy’s MV-22, CMV-22. Along with these programs the Ridley Park site supports a large portfolio of products including other Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others.
