The Hampton Roads Chapter of the Society of Allied Weight Engineers located in the Coastal Virginia region cordially invites you to the 2019 78th International Conference on Mass Properties Engineering in Norfolk, VA at the Hilton Norfolk – “The Main” from May 18 – 23, 2019. The venue is downtown Norfolk’s newest and most modern hotel, located in the heart of downtown Norfolk, with a large selection of restaurants, museums, shopping, and other local attractions all within walking distance.

A number of rooms have been blocked out for our conference for Friday night 5/17 through Wednesday night 5/22. Availability of rooms at the hotel beyond that room block is subject to regular hotel availability, so don’t delay in making a reservation. The conference hotel rate is $149/night + 15.0% room tax for standard rooms (1 king or 2 queens). The Per Diem rate is $93/night + 15% room tax. These rates are also available on a limited basis three nights before and two nights after the conference and based on hotel room availability. If you are unable to get these room rates during your reservation for any reason, please contact us and we will work with the hotel to try to accommodate for our attendees.

Conference registration fees will remain constant with recent International Conference registration fees and can be found at the bottom of the Conference Announcement.
Registration will be available for everything including the technical session, sponsors and exhibitors, training classes, and special events.
Registration will be due by May 10, 2019.
Norfolk International Airport is the major airport serving Coastal Virginia and northeast North Carolina. The airport is located one mile east of I-64, Norview Avenue exit, at 2200 Norview Avenue, Norfolk, Virginia 23518. The IATA airport code for Norfolk International Airport is ORF.
Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier (eff 8/12/18), Southwest and United offer convenient access to hundreds of cities worldwide.
The hotel does not offer a shuttle from Norfolk International Airport, however, a taxi ride can be made for approximately $25. In addition to the hotel’s own parking deck, which has both self and valet parking, there is also city parking just a block from the hotel at the West Plume Street Garage.
