Abstract

During the last few years there has been a drive to improve weight estimating methods. So far, the only tangible results of this drive, available to industry, are the revised AN weight statements, released last year, and the Rand Corporation Reports.

Release of the revised AN weight statements was considered to be the basic step required to improve weight estimating methods. These statements were intended to supply design and weight data in a form adaptable to either empirical or structural weight estimating formulas. This paper addresses the problem of consistency in weight coding.
