Year:
1978
Paper Number:
1243
Abstract:

The role of interactive graphics and computer aided design (ICAD) in the aircraft design process is reviewed and applications to the conceptual and preliminary design phase discussed. Several computer aided design application developments with in the Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory (AFFDL) are reviewed, and examples of graphic displays from several application programs presented. The functional characteristics and engineering design requirements including both hardware and software for a graphics design station are discussed in detail.
