Abstract

This paper outlines the use of low cost and lightweight shell tooling and (RTM) Resin Transfer Molding to manufacture a lightweight composite high roof for the Ford Transit. The full use of CAD/CAM/CAE was utilized to give an optimized design solution for the tooling, process machinery, and the roof molding.
