CENTER OF GRAVITY}, address = {Fort Worth, Texas}, abstract = {The purpose of this paper is to present an original, highly usable, and accurate system for analyzing the geometry of any describable body. It is currently the basis for analysis routines used by several aircraft companies and governmental agencies. These routines are used to compute usable volumes, wetted areas, centers of gravity, moments of inertia, and weights. The paper will not only present the charts, formulas, and understanding necessary for slide rule or desk calculator computation, but will also list a computer program for analysis of shapes whose complexity exceeds desk calculator use feasibility. This computer routine will generate the following information on input bodies: -Surface area -Surface area centroid along any one reference axis -Volume -Volumetric centroid along the reference axis}, keywords = {03.
