A survey of professional society membership is conducted and analyzed that includes a statistically significant number of SAWE participants. The survey relates why people originally join a professional society, why they remain members, and what they expect their professional society to offer them in the future. The conclusions that are drawn reflect the expectations and needs of the professional society members polled.
